Sunny Leone's Early life, Career, Biography & Photo Shoots

Sunny Leone (born Karenjit Kaur Vohra; May 13, 1981) is an Indo Canadian actress, businesswoman, model and former pornographic actress. She was named Penthouse Pet of the Year in 2003 and was a contract star for Vivid Entertainment. Named by Maxim as one of the 12 top porn stars in 2010, she has also played roles in independent mainstream films and television shows. She later made her Bollywood debut in Pooja Bhatt's erotic thriller Jism 2 (2012) and now works in Hindi films.

Leone was born in Sarnia, Ontario to Sikh Punjabi parents. Her father was born in Tibet and raised in Delhi, while her mother (who died in 2008) was from Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh. As a young girl, she was very athletic and played street hockey with the boys, and ice skating on a nearby frozen lake.

Although the family was Sikh, her parents enrolled her in Catholic school as it was felt to be unsafe for her to go to public school. There she had her first kiss at 11, lost her virginity to a basketball player at another school at 16, and discovered her bisexuality at age 18. When she was 13, her family moved to Fort Gratiot, Michigan, then to Lake Forest, California a year later, fulfilling her grandparents' dream that the family be together in one place.

Before working in the porn industry, she first worked at a German bakery, a Jiffy Lube, and later a tax and retirement firm.

While studying to be a pediatric nurse in Orange County, a classmate who was an exotic dancer introduced Leone to John Stevens, an agent who in turn introduced her to Jay Allen, a photographer for Penthouse magazine. When picking a name for her adult career, she has said that Sunny is her real name and Leone was picked by Bob Guccione, former owner of Penthouse magazine. Leone's last two movies under her contract with Vivid were It's Sunny in Brazil, which was filmed in Brazil. and The Sunny Experiment also starring Monique Alexander and Brea Lynn. The movies were released in October and December 2007 respectively.

In May 2007, upon re-signing her contract with Vivid for another six films, Leone agreed to perform for the first time with men on camera, but exclusively with her fiancé, Matt Erikson. That summer she also received breast augmentation, and shot her first movie under the new contract titled Sunny Loves Matt. The movie led to her to be nominated for three (out of six) AVN awards in 2009 in addition to being a choice for Female Performer of the Year. She followed up her first boy-girl title with The Other Side of Sunny in October 2008, which would be the last time she would perform with Erikson.

In January 2008, Leone revealed that she was no longer exclusive to Erikson, and had done scenes with other actors, most notably Tommy Gunn, Charles Dera, James Deen and Voodoo. In 2009, Vivid released her only movie performing with other male actors titled "Sunny B/G Adventure". Yaami Gautam's Nice Photos Collection

Ali Zafar might have faced a lot of trouble trying to please Yaami Gautam's on-screen mother (played by Kirron Kher) in their film Total Siyapaa, but the actress' real mother is mighty impressed with the actor. Yaami tells us, "My mom keeps asking me, 'Have you learnt something from Ali? He is such an intelligent, multi-talented guy!' I say, 'What do I learn in a month? Singing? Painting? Acting? What else do I need to learn?'"

So, did Ali give her any classes at all on the sets? "She didn't need any, to be honest," says a blushing Ali, and a laughing Yaami adds, "I was already a fabulous painter, singer, and actor!"

The film, directed by E Nivas, is a funny take on how all hell breaks loose when Aman, played by Ali meets his girlfriend Asha's family and they find out he is from Pakistan. Yaami says, "It delivers a message without being preachy." Adds Ali, "It's special to me because of the perception one has to face if they're from Pakistan, albeit in a very humourous way."

The stars hope the film encourages more cross-border marriages. But what if it ends up being chaotic? "No situation can be more chaotic than Total Siyapaa. Men about to meet prospective in-laws would gain confidence after watching the film," affirms Yaami.

Ali does know some real-life Indo-Pak couples. "Two of my Indian friends are married to Pakistani girls, and they are facing visa problems because rules allow the girl to go back only twice a year."

Produced by Friday Filmworks, Reliance Entertainment and ZEEL, Total Siyapaa releases today.

Delhi High Court lifts stay on 'Gulaab Gang'

The Delhi High Court has removed the stay on 'Gulaab Gang' on Thursday. The movie is going to be released all over India as scheduled, on the eve of International Women's Day.

'Gulaab Gang' is partially based on activist Sampat Lal Devi's life and Gulaabi Gang, that fought against injustice in rural UP. On Wednesday, Sampat Lal Devi, had moved to court to stay it's release saying that the producers did not take appropriate permissions from her. She also claimed that she has been portrayed wrongly in the movie, and a lot of the content is offensive and misleading.

She also sought financial compensation, saying there are certain scenes in movie which will effect her reputation.

However, the producers of the movie moved to court saying that Sampat Lal Devi's intentions were doubtful as she has waited for the last minute to gain publicity. The also argued that that Pal should not be granted any relief as she came to the court at the last minute despite knowing about the making of the film since March 2013, saying it found no merit in the contention.

'Gulaab Gang' is centred on the struggle of women in the country. Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla are coming together on the silver screen for the first time under the direction of Soumik Sen.

Shiv Sena upset with BJP's attempt to win over MNS

Uddhav Thackeray - led Shiv Sena is reportedly upset with former BJP chief Nitin Gadkari's meeting with MNS chief Raj Thackeray yesterday and the party has hit back, saying the main opposition party faces a big communication problem.

Reacting to the Gadkari - Raj Thackeray meeting, the Shiv Sena chief wrote in party's mouthpiece "Saamana", “There is a big communication gap within the BJP created by those praising Congress and NCP leaders.”

The Shiv Sena chief also expressed his displeasure to BJP chief Rajnath Singh over phone and summoned the state BJP chief over the matter.

The reaction from the Shiv Sena came a day after ex-BJP chief Nitin Gadkari met Raj, triggering speculation that the saffron party is trying to win over the MNS chief into NDA for upcoming elections even as he said there is no reason for Shiv Sena to be annoyed by his meeting with Raj.

RPI (A) led by Ramdas Athawale, also an important constituent of the 'Mahayuti' (grand alliance) led by BJP and Shiv Sena, said he would "welcome" Raj into the NDA-fold.

Gadkari, who is said to enjoy a good rapport with Raj Thackeray, met him at a suburban hotel in Mumbai, during which he reportedly asked the latter not to contest the Lok Sabha polls as it would divide votes of both Shiv Sena and the BJP.

MNS' high-pitch debut in 2009 elections had caused a large-scale division of Marathi votes ensuring the defeat of Shiv Sena candidates in Lok Sabha and assembly polls.

The development sent the political parties into a tizzy as Shiv Sena is a traditional bete noire of MNS and also an all-weather ally of BJP.

In the past also, the state BJP leadership had tried to woo Raj Thackeray but the efforts suffered a setback as Raj publicly criticised BJP's PM candidate for "harping on" the Gujarat model of development and skirting the mention of Shiv Sena supremo late Bal Thackeray during his rally in Mumbai.

Speaking to the media later, Gadkari said, "I discussed with the MNS chief the ways to get rid of the Congress government."

"There is no reason for Uddhav Thackeray to be annoyed over my meeting Raj...I meet everybody including Congress people," he said.

Asked if Sharad Pawar-led NCP will come over to NDA after the elections, Gadkari said anything can happen in cricket and politics. "We are confident of getting a clear majority on our own," the BJP leader added. When contacted, Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut said "we have nothing to say on the meeting".

Gadkari had last month attended the ground-breaking ceremony of Goda Park, which is said to be the dream project of Raj Thackeray, in Nashik where MNS is at helm with the support of BJP.

Adding credence to the speculations, Athawale said "we would welcome Raj Thackeray if he joins the Maha-yuti".

Interestingly, Athawale had in the past steadfastly opposed entry of MNS in the NDA-fold.

BJP Prime Minister Candidate Narendra Modi Signals Shift in Favour of Big Retail

Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Narendra Modi - who polls suggest may be elected prime minister this year - said on Thursday small retailers must learn to work with large modern stores and online companies, signaling a shift in policy on a key electoral issue.

The BJP opposes the government's move to let foreign supermarkets open in India, saying they are a threat to millions of grocery stores and traders who form a pillar of party support.

Modi, 63, chief minister of Gujarat which has enjoyed strong growth during his decade in office, has given few clues on how he would steer the national economy whose growth has any slumped.

The Hindu nationalist leader is widening his poll lead before a general election likely to be held in April and May. The Pew Research Center said Indians favour Modi as prime minister over his rival, ruling Congress party candidate Rahul Gandhi, by a margin of three to one.

However, his coalition is still short of a majority and it is notoriously hard to predict winners in India's multi-party political landscape and first-past-the-post system.

Sketching out his economic views in a series of speeches on Thursday, Modi said India must boost trade thropugh "economic diplomacy" and slash red tape, and said it needed a strong government to restore investor confidence.

He criticised the outgoing adminstration of Manmohan Singh for almost halving the pace of economic growth.

"If we come to power, first we will have to fill up the potholes created by this government," he said.

Modi did not reiterate his party's stance against foreign supermarkets and declined to oppose a proposal to allow foreign investment in online shopping.

Instead, he urged small traders to improve their own quality to compete better and said they could enter into contracts with big online retailers to create "virtual trade".

"EMBRACE IT"

"We should not worry about the challenges from global trade," Modi told the Confederation of All India Traders. "The government should not look to curb online trade. We should not worry about these things. Our children have taken IT to the world. We'll have to embrace it."

Later, Piyush Goyal, a member of Modi's economic planning team, said the party's policy had not changed.

Prime Minister Singh threw open India's $500-billion retail industry to foreign investors late in 2012, allowing chains such as Wal-Mart and TESCO to own majority stakes in Indian stores for the first time, subkect to approval by individual states.

This month, the newly elected BJP government of Rajasthan decided to maintain the ban on foreign chains, the second state to do so. Fewer than half of India's 28 states have agreed to implement the policy.

India's small traders had hoped Modi would vow to make opposition to foreign retailers a part of the party's manifesto, due to be released in the next few weeks.

Many large Indian retailers, some of them capital-constrained, welcome liberalised investment rules that would bring funding and technology into the sector

Kishore Biyani, chair of the large diversified Indian retailer Future Group, said: "This looks like a strategic direction which is being set ahead of the elections and it's a very welcome one."

"These comments and clarity will help everyone in the industry and foreign players to take decisions."

In his speeched Modi also said he wanted more investment in areas such as biotechnology and renewable energy and said he favoured introducing a nation-wide goods and services tax (GST), a long-planned reform to create a uniform market, cut business costs and boost government revenue.

State governments, including Modi's Gujarat, have resisted a GST, fearing that they would lose revenue if the current array of levies were replaced.

LJP Rejoins NDA, to Contest Seven LS Seats in Bihar Elections 2014

Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Ramvilas Paswan Thursday returned to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and announced an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the Lok Sabha elections 2014.

The announcement was made by Paswan along with BJP president Rajnath Singh here.

It marked the first major aggregation to the NDA after the Janata Dal - United pulled out of the alliance last year over growing projection of Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi.

The two leaders announced that a seat sharing agreement has been worked out and the LJP will contest seven of 40 seats in Bihar.

They also announced that Paswan will attend Modi's rally in Muzaffarpur next month.

Paswan, who had resigned from the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government and walked out of the NDA over the 2002 Gujarat riots, said he had no reservations with Modi's candidature for prime minister.

"We are now part of the NDA. The NDA has already declared (Modi as) its prime ministerial candidate. There is no need to ask the question again," Paswan said.

A smiling Paswan said the next government will be formed by the NDA and expressed his happiness on joining the alliance.

He said the Vajpayee - led NDA had done more for Dalits and the poor compared to the past few years of the United Progressive Alliance government.

Rajnath Singh said there was growing inclination of Dalit leaders towards the BJP and the NDA.

"There is attraction of the Dalit community (towards the BJP). All want Modi to be the prime minister," he said.

"The country is passing through a difficult time. If anybody can help overcome problems, it is the BJP - led NDA," Rajnath Singh added.

He said Paswan will meet Modi and also senior party leader L.K. Advani.

Several BJP and LJP leaders were present at Rajnath Singh's residence to announce the alliance.

The BJP chief said Upendra Kushwaha, a leader of the backward classes, would also be present at Modi's rally in Muzaffarpur.
